1. Deteriorated Immune System
When our immune system is weakened, more infections can occur on the skin easily. For this reason, you should strengthen your immune system if you are to cure your acne.
Things you should avoid:
- Stress
- Unhealthy diet habits
- Lack of important vitamins, minerals and other nutrients such as fibers.
- Polluted environment, free radicals, etc etc
- Eat more fruits and vegetables. This is because these foods contain high amounts of vitamin A, C, E and so on as well as other important minerals like Zinc.
- Vitamin C is proved to be a immune system strengthener.
- Take more zinc. Zinc boosts your immune system.
- Get more sleep. The lack of sleep causes your immune system to get weakened.
- Exercise, exercise & exercise regularly. Don't overdo it though.
- Avoid stress. Stress causes your immune system to take a dip.
Hormones play a great role in your body and its functions. To focus on acne, the hormone androgen simple cannot be neglected. Androgen, a kind of hormones that stimulates the oil glands under your skin to release more oil/sebum to your skin through the pores. When your body secretes excessive amount of androgen to the bloodstream, more sebum will be released through your pores to the skin.
Excessive sebum, which is a sticky substance, will cause the pores to get clogged. This in turn, causes the bacterias to have food to feast on. Acne is developed when the bacterias get combated by the immune system. The inflammations are what cause the zits to look red and swollen.
What you can do about this:
- Remove the toxins in your body. Excessive amount of toxins can cause your hormone secretion to go wild. To counter this issue, you will have to drink more water, detoxify your body through fiber-rich diet regularly, fasting as well as other detoxification remedies/solutions.]
- Get more sleep. Lack of sleep causes excessive hormone secretion too. Getting more sleep regulates your hormonal system and boosts your immune system.
Acne only occurs when a pore is clogged. As explained earlier, a clogged pore will cause bacterial infection and ultimately cause acne.
Things that can clog/block your pores:
- Dirt, stain and so on. I read from some website that dirt and stain doesn't cause acne. That guy absolutely doesn't know what he is talking about.
- Excessive sebum.
- Make up.
- Oily, pore-clogging skin solutions like toner or cream.
- Wipe your face regularly with clean facial wipes.
- Wash your face in the morning and before you go to sleep. Wash it in the afternoon, if your skin is very oily.
- If possible, don't wear any make-ups. Some girls will like to wear some make up so that their zits won't be so visible. Well, this is where you make a choice. Do you want to hide behind those thick powders? Or do you want to clear your acne quickly so you won't have to use any make up anymore?
